March 20 World Meat Without Day

The No Meat Day was created to give up eating meat one day a year. Consequently, killing animals for propagating a menu based on vegetables, fruits and cereals, teaching a healthy lifestyle and a vegetarian diet as a human-friendly diet.

The Idea of the Day Without Meat was born in 1985 in the USA on the initiative of the public benefit organization FARM, promoting animal protection and vegan diet. The organizers emphasize the benefits of reducing or eliminating the diet, such as reducing the risk of heart disease and strokes, as well as bacterial and parasitic infections. Added to this are ethical considerations, or a positive impact on the environment, namely the protection of animals and nature. For this reason, the Day without Meat coincides with the beginning of spring, when nature comes to life.
Over 10% of the world's population does not eat meat. The regions of the world contribute to this number, where abstinence from meat is recommended or ordered by religion or culture, such as in Buddhism and Hinduism. Studies have shown that vegetarians live on average a few years longer than meat lovers. The transition to vegetarianism should not, however, be a hasty and sudden decision. Providing the body with all nutrients requires great attention and culinary discipline. Not without significance is also the imagination to replace the lost taste of meat with new flavored combinations.
Nutritionists remind that at the base of the Pyramid of Nutrition, in addition to physical activity, there are primarily vegetables and fruits, and these should be half of our daily diet.
